What is a sheepskin chair cushion?

A sheepskin chair cushion is a pillow made of soft sheepskin. Our chair cushions are known for their wonderful softness and comfort making them a popular choice as an addition to your home decor. Because wool has insulating properties, they offer a nice warmth in the winters and a pleasant cool feeling in the summer. This is because the wool takes on your body temperature.

Sheepskin chair cushions are not sheepskin decorative cushions. Sheepskin decorative cushions are designed differently and almost always have a thicker filling or inner cushion so they are not suitable to sit on for a long time. Sheepskin chair cushions are subtly padded so you can sit on them for longer.

How can you use a sheepskin chair cushion?

The name actually says it all, you can use a sheepskin chair cushion for on your chair, sofa, curl or other seating. Let's look at some of the ways:

On your dining room chairs: Place a sheepskin chair cushion on the seat of your dining chairs to be even more comfortable while eating. This not only adds comfort, but also a stylish element to your dining room.

What kind of sheepskin chair cushions are there?

In our collection you will find, among others, square chair cushions of 40x40cm. They are made from different sheepskins such as the Icelandic sheepskins in brown, white and black which are known for their beautiful long hair. They bring your interior a warm, luxurious and elegant atmosphere. Depending on your chair, the hairs of the Icelandic chair cushions drape over the edges which gives an extra beautiful and playful effect.

We also have sheepskin seat cushions from British and Dutch sheepskins. These have a shorter wool compared to the Icelandic fleeces. The wool density of the British and Dutch sheepskins is denser which makes them more comfortable to sit on.

Many (as far as we have been able to discover all) sheepskin chair cushions on the market are just a square or round cutout from the sheepskin. This looks nice but offers a lot less seating comfort than a filled sheepskin chair cushion. Our sheepskin chair cushions are not just an attractive addition to your interior but they also offer extra comfort because all our sheepskin cushions are extra filled and have a luxurious finish on the back. Extra sustainably produced, we don't let anything go to waste

Our tanneries regularly have sheepskins that are not suitable as A-choice. For example, sheepskins that do not have a uniform shape, a hole or tear. Because these furs are not suitable for interior use, we have our beautiful chair cushions made from them. The tannery works around the so-called "defect" so that only the most beautiful and best parts of the sheepskin are used. As a result, these fleeces are not lost and will have a beautiful place in your interior.

Combine a sheepskin seat cushion with other skins or decorations for even more ambiance

Want to add even more atmosphere and warmth to your interior? Then combine the sheepskin chair cushions with other warm skins, furs and decorations. For example, place a beautiful cowhide on the floor such as a tricolor cowhide or a brown and white cowhide. Want to keep it more in the wool texture? Then you can also go for a sheepskin such as an Icelander or one of the other warm sheepskins. Or subtly enrich your interior with a rabbit coat.
