How can you use a cowhide?
You can use a cowhide in many different ways. The most well-known and used way is the use of a cowhide on the floor, as a rug in the living room, bedroom or office. But they are also regularly used for over the sofa so that, for example, your pet does not damage the sofa. Also the skins are used as wall hangings, this way you can create your own huntig lodge effect.
Can you use a cowhide outside? Yes, to a certain extent. As long as it is dry and not humid you can put the cowhide outside for example. If rain is expected it is best to bring the cowhide inside. Do you have a greenhouse that can be completely closed then the cowhide can stay there. Do you have a roof then you can best bring the cowhide inside if it's going to rain and in the evenings. In general, leather is not good against moisture.
For the creative people among us, the cowhides can also be used to make beautiful decorations, bags and much more. For example, you can make cowhide pillows, but also very nice bags for everyday use or use the leather to cover your old chair or sofa. Because of the supple tanning and thickness of +/- 2 - 4mm a cowhide is perfect for further processing.

What kinds of cowhides are there?

Each breed has its own typical characteristics. There are the famous Scottish Highlanders with beautiful brown / red long hairs, Galloways with a fine curly coat but also the Norman breed with the famous tricolor (black, white brown) or the Hereford breed that is known for its beautiful red / brown color with white belly and, usually, white back. Or a little closer to home the Holstein-Friesians with classic black/white markings.

What sizes of cowhides are there?
Cowhides are real natural products besides the unique colors they all have a unique size. Often the size is indicated in square meters (M2) or in centimeters. For measuring our skins we use centimeters. Thus, before purchasing your cowhide, it is best to measure the size at the desired location. Our cowhides are available in different sizes. To make it as clear as possible, we have divided the skins into different sizes.
