How can you use a cowhide?
A cowhide is a beautiful addition to any interior, which is both versatile and offers you a luxurious look. For example, use it as a stylish rug under your living room table or in your bedroom next to your bed to add a soft touch. The beauty of these natural skins is that you can seamlessly combine them with different interior styles from classic to modern and from rural to industrial.
Besides using it as a rug you can also use it as a unique tapestry, it's something different than a standard painting. For the creative among us, you can also use them for further processing. They are often used to upholster furniture, from chairs to complete sofas, but you can also use them to make cowhide pillows, cowhide coasters, bags, (LARP) costumes and much more, let your creativity run wild! Due to the flexible tanning and thickness of +/- 2 - 4mm a cowhide is perfect for further processing.
Can you use them outside? To a certain extent. As long as it is dry and not humid you can put a cowhide outside. If rain is expected, it is best to bring it inside. Do you have a greenhouse that can be completely closed off? Then you can leave it there (provided it is dry, of course). If you have an open roof, it's best to bring the cowhide inside if it's going to rain and in the evenings. Leather is not very resistant to moisture.

What types of colors are all there?
Our cowhides are available in a wide variety of different natural colors, each completely unique with its own charm and character. Natural colors range from the classic black and white and brown and white combinations to the striking tricolor (tricolor) Normans or famous red and white Herefords and even shades of gray.
For those who like to create a subtle look, there are also skins with solid colors such as all black, brown and sometimes pure white. Regardless of which color you go for now, they all bring a unique warm atmosphere to your interior, allowing you to complete your interior.

What sizes are there?
Our cowhides are genuine natural products, so they all have their own unique size. Often the size is indicated in square meters (M2) or centimeters. We measure all our hides in centimeters, so you can measure at home before you buy to see if the one you want will fit where you want to use it.
Go for the size that best suits your interior:
Do you have a smaller room, space or want to add a more subtle cowhide? Then check out the XS or S size hides. These are perfect for putting something small on like a table, chair or stool. Or if you prefer to see a little more of your just new floor.
Can it be a size bigger? Then go for one with size M / L. This size cowhide starts at about 2 meters in length increasing to over 2.40 meters. Ideal for medium to larger living rooms, bedrooms, offices or other medium-sized spaces. This size is most commonly used in interior design.
Want to really go all out? Then go for an XL cowhide, or even bigger, an XXL cowhide. The largest specimen we ever had was over 2.80 meters! The XL and XXL versions look best in larger (open) spaces such as the living room and bedroom.
An unmatched quality of natural cowhides
Our business is all about the passion for leather. To offer you the best quality, the cowhides are personally and carefully hand selected by us. We are constantly looking for the best hides from the meat industry where the cows have lived in the wild. Our skins come from Europe and South America. This is where the finest and best quality cowhides in the world are produced.
The bristles of our cowhides are nice and soft and the leather supple, unlike many other (cheaper) skins on the market that can be quite stiff. The tanneries we work with ensure that the hides are neatly tanned and any odors neutralized.

A cowhide needs little to no maintenance but maybe you recognize it, you have a nice one lying around, you accidentally drop a glass of drink on it. Or people come over for dinner but everyone walks on it with their mud shoes on, ouch! To keep your cows in top condition we regularly get questions about how to best maintain and clean them.
