Sheepskin, brown-cream, 105x65cm
Do you have a dog or cat? And is your sweet, fluffy pet allowed on the couch (or in the chair)? Then you can put this sheepskin to good use to protect your couch or chair from damage. You can also use this sheepskin as a soft and comfortable bed where they can relax and play. Place the sheepskin, for example, in their crate, in their basket, or simply on the floor. If your dog or cat sleeps on the floor, it’s usually a bit colder there because heat rises. By placing the sheepskin on the floor, they can still stay nice and warm. That’s because a sheepskin adapts to body temperature, so it’s nice and warm on cooler days but also cooler on warmer days.
This sheepskin in a nutshell

What is the difference from a regular sheepskin?
These sheepskins are specifically for dogs and cats. Our tannery regularly has sheepskins with minor imperfections, such as: a corner missing, a small tear, a hole, a bald spot, wool with some dye on it, etc. Although they’re just as beautiful as regular sheepskins, people (often) prefer an A-grade sheepskin for interior decor. It doesn’t really matter to a dog or cat if a corner or something similar is missing. At least, we’ve never received a complaint about that from a dog or cat.
These sheepskins have otherwise been treated in the same way as our regular sheepskins.
Because these are priced at a lower tier, we unfortunately cannot specify the defect for each individual sheepskin.
Ecologically tanned, better for the environment
We have all our sheepskins tan sustainably. This means that the tannery does not use any harmful substances that could harm the environment, such as chromium, heavy metals, and other harmful dyes. We even go a step further and are proud to say that the sheepskins we carry are certified under the Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
A unique tanning process that gives the sheepskin a silky-soft feel and a pleasant scent
This sheepskin is incredibly supple and has a wonderfully soft texture. To achieve this high quality, the sheepskin is brushed multiple times, making it extra soft and giving it a beautiful sheen.
Another characteristic of this premium sheepskin is its pleasant scent. We noticed that many sheepskins on the market have a very pungent sheep/farm odor. This is typical of cheap sheepskins that have undergone only a limited tanning process. If you bring a cheap sheepskin like that into your home, the whole house will smell like sheep in no time—not exactly desirable. After all, you want to be able to enjoy the sheepskin right away, don’t you?
Together with our tannery, we’ve explored how to make the sheepskins smell nice. After a few adjustments to the tanning process, our sheepskins now have a lovely, pleasant scent—and we’re actually quite proud of that. This means you can give them a nice spot in your home right away and immediately enjoy their beauty.
How do you care for sheepskin?
Sheepskins require little to no maintenance. If dirt or moisture gets on the pelt, you can use the tips below when cleaning it.
Removing stains and dirt from sheepskin:
- These can be gently whipped out with the hand or a mat whisk.
- If moisture (beverage, etc.) is spilled on it, pat the area dry immediately (do not rub!) with a clean dry cloth.
- Stubborn stains can be removed with a small amount of natural detergent with lukewarm/hot water.
- Dried-up dirt can be removed with a slightly damp cloth.
